El Salón Documental Medellín is an independent initiative that seeks to strengthen the dynamics of production, research and the impact of the documentaries that are led from Medellín. This event promotes a meeting of people who are linked to different areas of documentary making in the city in order to foster ties of collaboration and support, the dissemination of knowledge necessary for professionalization and the articulation of the documentary with organizations and entities that have the potential to energize it. In this way, El Salón Documental Medellín seeks to promote mutual recognition, networking, as well as promote a future union of the sector with the perspective to consolidating better working conditions and social impact of the documentary.

Online Version 24th - 28th of November 2020 The fourth version of the Salón Documental Medellín is dedicated to the editing in documentary film. Our free online programming includes a master class, a panel on editing strategies, two case studies, an editing laboratory for seven projects in post-production and the public presentation of these projects.
